Job summary

BARBERTON in is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, communicate with families and physicians, and maintain documentation in medical records. The role includes supervising COTA, aides, and students, and participating in staff training and conferences.

Responsibilities include timely patient evaluations, developing and obtaining plan approval, treating per physician plan, and documenting all progress and changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or higher.
• Proficiency with computer systems (Casamba, Point Click Care).
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of referral.
• Develop and obtain approval for treatment plans from referring physicians.
• Treat patients per physician plan and document progress.
• Supervise COTA, aides and students in required settings.
• Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes and recertifications.
• Instruct families and nursing staff for discharge and caregiver training.
• Coordinate equipment needs to promote mobility and independence.
• Communicate progress and plans with supervisor and health team.
