Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients, communicate with families, physicians, and the health team, and maintain documentation in medical records. You will conduct in-services for facility staff and contribute to ongoing training programs.

The role involves supervising COTA and aides, developing treatment plans, and assisting with discharge planning and equipment orders to promote patient independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters/Doctorate in Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Proficient with Casamba and Point Click Care.
• OT licensure in the state; continuing education requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients within 24 hours of referral or document delay.
• Develop and obtain approval for treatment plans from referring physician.
• Treat patients according to physician plan and document progress.
• Supervise COTA and aides in direct patient care.
• Communicate patient progress with supervisor and health team.
• Participate in care conferences and in-services as needed.
• Instruct families and nursing staff for discharge preparation.
• Assist in discharge planning.
• Recommend and facilitate durable medical equipment as needed.
• Maintain documentation per policy, board, and payer requirements.
