Job summary

Clark County is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Manager (Program Manager II) to lead a county-wide safety program. The role focuses on developing risk management strategies, OSHA/WISHA compliance, and employee wellness initiatives across departments.

The position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination with at least five years in municipal risk management and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in industrial engineering, occupational health, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, safety management, risk management or closely related field preferred.
• Five years of municipal risk management or occupational safety experience with accident investigation/analysis; basic first aid and CPR training required.
• Extensive knowledge of Federal and State safety laws and regulations (WISHA/OSHA) and capable training material development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and implement a county-wide safety program and risk management strategies.
• Oversee major safety initiatives and safety policies; develop and implement training across departments.
• Conduct compliance audits, investigate incidents, and prepare reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with DOT, DOL, OSHA/WISHA and other agencies; maintain records and safety data sheets.
• Lead safety committees and training programs; monitor budget and program performance.
