Job summary

Sigma Computing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on Observability and Reliability to build and improve our observability stack. You will work with Go, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes to ensure uptime and performance across services, while collaborating with peers through design and code reviews.

The role emphasizes building scalable runtime tools, implementing best practices for measurable systems, and contributing to a culture of craftsmanship and teamwork in a fast-growing cloud

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals.
• 5+ years of industry experience building high-quality software.
• Product mindset and enabling others.

Responsibilities

• Build observability tools and platforms: metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerting, APM.
• Use Go, OpenTelemetry, and Kubernetes.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure uptime.
• Create runtime tools for cloud triaging and reducing downtime.
• Define best practices to make systems measurable.
• Collaborate through design and code reviews; majority coding time.
