Job summary

Ripple in New York seeks an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead observability and incident management initiatives. You will design monitoring, define SLOs, and coach product teams toward reliability while hands-on building with Terraform, New Relic, and Azure/AWS across Windows environments.

You will implement IaC, manage incidents with Incident.IO, and drive cost optimization and postmortems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering with a focus on observability and production operations.
• Experience coaching and mentoring teams while delivering hands-on engineering work.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and cross-functional collaboration.
• Expert-level hands-on experience with New Relic and NRQL for troubleshooting and analysis.
• Terraform IaC for monitoring resources and governance patterns.
• PowerShell scripting in a Windows-dominant environment.
• Azure cloud expertise with Windows/Linux environments; AWS knowledge.
• Incident management platforms (Incident.IO, PagerDuty, OpsGenie).
• Jira for incident tracking; Slack for incident communication.

Responsibilities

• Observability Engineering: design monitoring, alerting, and dashboards across Azure and AWS.
• Define and implement SLOs/SLIs and error budgets; coach teams on reliability metrics.
• Lead alert noise reduction and cost optimization for observability.
• Develop and maintain Terraform for monitoring resources and governance.
• Incident Management: configure alert routing, runbooks, and postmortems.
• Cross-functional enablement: coach stream-aligned teams and translate needs to self-service capabilities.
