Job summary

Actalent is hiring an Architect in New York City to lead multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects from concept to completion. The role requires strong Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling skills, with DOB and zoning knowledge.

You will mentor teams, coordinate with internal and external consultants, and manage design development through construction documents. The position is contract-to-hire with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 remote) in Brooklyn/NYC area.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects.
• Knowledge of NYC DOB processes, building codes, and zoning regulations.
• Ability to review and resolve DOB objections while preserving design intent.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities for project teams.
• Experience in a hybrid office environment and collaborating with internal/external teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, and religious projects from concept to construction.
• Manage all architectural phases: schematic design to construction administration.
• Coordinate project teams and assist captains/managers for seamless delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with NYC DOB and zoning requirements.
• Review DOB objections and maintain design intent and compliance.
• Apply coding knowledge to guide feasibility, massing, and planning.
• Lead design development and produce buildable solutions.
• Prepare, review, and refine construction documents and specs.
• Use Revit and plug-ins to develop models and drawings.
• Collaborate with structural, MEP, and other disciplines.
• Participate in client meetings and incorporate feedback.
• Support RFIs, submittals, and site visits during construction.
• Contribute to interiors design when applicable.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
