Job summary

Wycokck is seeking a Program Specialist for the Area Agency on Aging in Kansas City to ensure smooth operation of the Meals on Wheels program. You will manage certifications, tracking, and reporting to meet state guidelines, while coordinating with caterers and delivery services to provide high-quality meals for eligible seniors.

The role requires collaboration with community resources, strong communication, and ability to travel locally for trainings.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in gerontology, nursing, health, social work, counseling, human development, or family studies; 1 year of geriatric service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources; ability to communicate and work with the public.
• Willingness to travel locally daily or overnight to trainings.
• Valid Kansas Driver’s License with personal insured vehicle; basic office computer and software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee smooth operation of the Meals on Wheels program and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Assess and recertify Meals on Wheels clients to meet state eligibility; perform monthly tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with meal caterer and delivery entities to ensure timely meal delivery and high-quality nutrition services.
• Facilitate nutrition needs identified by the Area Agency on Aging for eligible seniors living independently.
