Job summary

Serving Seniors in San Diego, CA is seeking a Nutrition Operations Supervisor to oversee congregate dining and home-delivered meals. You will supervise frontline staff, organize schedules, ensure safety and accuracy of meal service, and promote dignity in service to older adults.

The role requires hands-on leadership, adherence to nutrition program standards, and collaboration with the Nutrition Operations Manager. Onsite work with periodic non-routine duties may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience with HS diploma or 3+ years with a bachelor's.
• Direct supervision experience in food service or operations required.
• Food service operations experience required; congregate/home-delivered meal programs preferred.
• Current food safety certification or ability to obtain within timeframe; valid CA driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day work of staff across dining and delivery operations.
• Organize schedules, assignments, coverage, and attendance; escalate as needed.
• Provide hands-on supervision of meal service, checks, and documentation.
• Coach and retrain staff; contribute to evaluations; support HR with disciplinary direction.
• Ensure compliance with county and program requirements; monitor food safety practices.
• Review records, forecasts, inventory, and payment/documentation accuracy.
• Support forecasting, inventory management, waste reduction, and reconciliation.
• Identify operational issues and implement improvements within policy.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for smooth service continuity.
• Maintain records and prepare reports using MS Office and systems.
