Job summary

Serving Seniors in San Diego seeks a part-time Nutrition Site Coordinator to run the dining room and kitchen daily at the site and to maintain positive relations with the Food Service Director. The role involves coordinating meals, overseeing donations, and ensuring smooth service for seniors and volunteers.

Hours are 8:30am to 2:00pm, with a pay rate of $20 per hour. Duties include promoting programs, reporting meals served, and adhering to all policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Food service experience preferred.
• Previous experience working in a kitchen or similar environment preferred.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications.
• Driver's License required to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day food service at the site.
• Act as a liaison with all food service vendors.
• Oversee the collection of daily meal donations.
• Provide accurate daily and weekly accounting of clients-served to the Site Manager.
• Act as a concierge to seniors, guests and volunteers in the dining room.
• Distribute the monthly menus.
• Support outreach efforts to promote program services in the community.
• As a mandated reporter for Elder Abuse, report any suspicious circumstances or suspected abuse to Adult Protective Services.
• Ensure all appropriate policies and procedures are followed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Our flagship Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center in downtown San Diego is unlike any other senior center in the nation. Job Purpose

Physical Demands And Work Environment

• Onsite position
• Position is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.
