Job summary

Serving Seniors in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Nutrition Site Coordinator to manage dining room and kitchen operations at the site and to maintain positive community relations with the Food Service Director.

The role requires hands-on food service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with vendors, volunteers, and seniors; a valid CA driver's license is required, with schedule including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior customer service skills, including identifying and following up on customer needs.
• Ability to develop professional, cooperative working relationships with participants, families, colleagues and volunteers.
• Ability to motivate and lead teams.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to food service.
• Must have a valid CA Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day food service at the site.
• Liaise with food service vendors.
• Oversee collection of daily meal donations.
• Provide accurate daily and weekly accounting of clients served to the Site Manager.
• Serve as concierge to seniors, guests and volunteers in the dining room.
• Distribute the monthly menus.
• Support outreach to promote program services in the community.
• As a mandated reporter for Elder Abuse, report any concerns to Adult Protective Services.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
