Job summary

Topaz HR is assisting a rapidly growing healthcare organization in Pittsburgh, PA, to find an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a skilled nursing facility. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee nursing staff and daily clinical operations.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and able to navigate regulatory requirements, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and mentor staff while maintaining a strong resident-care focus.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Prior nursing leadership in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on leadership and team mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Nursing with daily clinical operations.
• Assist with oversight of nursing staff, scheduling, and workflow.
• Help maintain regulatory compliance.
• Participate in survey preparedness and quality initiatives.
• Support infection prevention and resident care programs.
• Assist with staff education, mentoring, and performance management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Foster a positive clinical culture throughout the facility.
• Support implementation of clinical policies and best practices.
• Monitor documentation standards and regulatory compliance.
• Assist leadership with staff development and retention.
