Job summary
Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia, seeks a Principal Clinical Informaticist to lead nursing informatics and digital health initiatives. You will align technology with nursing practice, improve care delivery, and drive workflows through evidence-based informatics strategies.
You will collaborate with clinical and IT leaders, champion AI and innovative tech adoption, and mentor informatics staff to support a digitally capable nursing workforce across the system.
Qualifications
- Master’s in Nursing required.
- Active RN license in Virginia; Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC) within 1 year of hire.
- 5+ years clinical nursing experience; 3+ years in nursing informatics leadership.
- ITIL Foundation Certification preferred; enterprise IT experience beneficial.
- Experience with EHR implementation and hospital or health system background is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate as part of a clinical nursing informatics team to provide leadership across clinical care teams.
- Partner with associate chief nursing informatic officers for integrated leadership on informatics responsibilities.
- Collaborate with CIO, CNO and CMIO on digital transformation and strategic initiatives.
- Lead evaluation, selection and implementation of new technologies with alignment to strategy.
- Represent Augusta Health externally in professional organizations and conferences.
- Mentor nurse informaticists and clinical champions, and support annual work plans.
