Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs in Lexington, KY seeks a Nursing Informatics RN to coordinate information education, training, and technical support for VISTA nursing modules and clinical information systems used by Patient Care Services.

The role emphasizes collaboration with IM and clinical staff to optimize information systems, maintain nursing software, and support evidence-based practice. A strong nursing background and informatics interest are essential.

Qualifications

Requires RN licensure and state nursing license
Must have nursing education from ACEN/CCNE accredited program or equivalent
Foreign-educated nurses require degree equivalency validation
Experience with Cerner data analytics and SQL is preferred
Project management experience is a plus
Certification in Nursing Informatics is preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborates with IM, Pharmacy, and Biomedical Engineering to support nursing information systems
Coordinates and maintains Patient Care Services computer programs
Tests, verifies, and updates Nursing Package versions prior to activation
Provides training and documentation on nursing software for end users
Ensures appropriate access levels and reports for nursing staff
Leads performance improvement activities through data analytics
Recommends new systems or changes to existing systems for better patient care
Acts as a consultant on information technology applied to clinical practice
