Job summary

Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs seeks a Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead nursing staff in state veterans facilities. The role focuses on delivering high-quality geriatric care, supervising RNs and aides, and ensuring regulatory compliance across shifts.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, and interdisciplinary coordination under the DON. Strong leadership, CPR, and MS Office skills are required; nights/weekends may be involved.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Florida Registered Nursing license.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of the employment screening process including background and drug test.
• Previous long-term care experience with geriatric population.
• Supervisory experience in a long-term care facility.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality professional care to veteran residents and ensure health, safety, and security per SOPs and Nurse Practice Act.
• Perform medications administration and treatments per MD orders; supervise RN, LPN, CNA and other staff.
• Work under the supervision of the Executive Nursing Director (DON).
• Supervise nursing personnel on assigned shift and ensure staff follow job descriptions.
• Review shift assignments to meet residents' nursing care needs.
• Maintain documentation, incident reports, and regulatory compliance.
