Job summary

EnergySolutions seeks a senior QA leader to design and implement QA programs across projects in the nuclear field. You will oversee QA activities, lead audits, and ensure compliance with NQA-1 and 10 CFR 830.122, while guiding staff and interacting with external auditors to uphold quality standards.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 10+ years of QA experience, with strong communication, problem-solving, and regulatory knowledge essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Detailed knowledge of applicable quality-related codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Detailed understanding of how to prescribe, apply and assess compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations.
• Proven ability to manage and/or monitor the QA activities associated with a discipline or project on a daily basis.
• Strong knowledge of QA systems (i.e., corrective actions and supplier qualifications).
• Intermediate knowledge of the development of QA program/procedural documents.
• Proven ability to manage and/or monitor the QA activities associated with a specific area/location.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure QA requirements are met.
• Provide QA oversight to ensure high-quality products and services for customers.
• Manage staff selection, development and retention; set goals and evaluate performance.
• Provide direction and training to QA/QC staff on QA/QC matters.
• Lead QA activities planning, scheduling and performance for client locations.
• Review customer contracts to identify QA requirements that must be met.
• Develop and implement surveillance programs and maintain document control systems.
• Serve as lead auditor on complex nuclear QA audits and interface with external QA audit personnel.
