Job summary

Syngenia SA is seeking an Expert Technical Process Optimization and Project Management professional to drive optimization of technical processes and multidisciplinary projects in the nuclear waste processing and decommissioning domain.

The Senior Engineer will provide specialized technical guidance, lead risk assessments, and develop safety guidelines while coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all project phases.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in process engineering, project management, and safety analysis within nuclear or industrial environments.
• Ability to lead complex projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage technical tasks.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, safety regulations, and process design standards.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
• Fluent in Dutch (C1), with professional fluency in English or French as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, organize, and optimize technical processes and projects within nuclear waste processing and decommissioning.
• Provide specialized technical advice, develop safety guidelines, and implement process improvements.
• Lead technical evaluations with calculations, analyses, and research to support decisions and design.
• Develop and validate technical solutions, specifications, and models aligned with standards.
• Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, FMEA) and establish safety measures.
• Manage projects from initiation to closure including planning, budgeting, and stakeholders.
• Oversee procurement and contractual procedures ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Act as technical expert and knowledge steward, sharing expertise via training and standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of norms and best practices in nuclear/process engineering.
