Job summary

SHINE Technologies LLC seeks a Senior Process Engineer for the UNF Recycling line. You will own process design and P&IDs, driving from preliminary to detailed design while coordinating with R&D and vendors. Hybrid work is possible with duties spanning design, testing, and compliance.

The role requires a strong engineering background (10+ years preferred) in chemical or mechanical fields, and a proven ability to lead complex projects, ensuring safety and efficiency in recovery operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience preferred.
• Experience designing a first-of-a-kind system with vendors.
• Oversee multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated judgment with safety-focused design decisions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of nuclear fuel cycle processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the process design of assigned systems including P&IDs, material balances, sizing and design requirements.
• Prepare and review design packages, specifications, test plans, calculations, reports and drawings.
• Lead or participate in HAZOPs and design reviews for assigned systems.
• Collaborate with SHINE R&D to transition process technology to fabrication and licensing.
• Write equipment specifications and procurement documents for vendors.
• Support factory and site acceptance tests and walk-downs of installed equipment.
• Assist in the pilot facility construction permit application or equivalent.
