Job summary
Frazer-Nash Consultancy is seeking a Senior Nuclear Physics Consultant to apply advanced analytical techniques and modelling tools to understand complex nuclear systems. You will lead technical work packages, mentor others, and engage directly with clients and regulators, while growing a specialist capability within the company.
You will work across lifecycle stages from technical analysis to business development, with responsibility for communicating outputs clearly and driving project delivery
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline.
- Expertise in reactor physics and neutron kinetics.
- Experience with reactor core design or operations using lattice physics or neutron transport codes.
- Experience in transient and fault analysis in nuclear safety contexts.
- Ability to communicate complex modelling outputs to clients and regulators.
Responsibilities
- Develop models of nuclear plant cores using industry-standard codes.
- Analyse fault sequences, transients, and system behaviours to inform design decisions.
- Interpret modelling results and explain underlying physical phenomena.
- Lead a specialist capability area and mentor colleagues.
- Engage with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Support business development and winning work.
