Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology procedures in accordance with protocols and ALARA guidelines at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program, ARDMS/ARRT CNMT or NMTCB, and BLS with at least 1 year of experience. Mentorship to students and junior staff is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by JRCNMT or NMTCB.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Licensure: ARDMS or ARRT - Nuclear Med Tech; CNMT; NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech; BLS - Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology procedures per protocols and ALARA guidelines.
• Performs all quality control procedures per manufacturer, state and federal guidelines.
• Demonstrates competence in nuclear medicine exams across age groups and positions patients/equipment, selects protocols.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional details.
• Determines quality of radiopharmaceuticals received from suppliers.
• Explains procedures and safety precautions to patients and provides assistance during tests.
• Maintains records, licenses and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Maintains proficiency to perform advanced imaging and post-processing.
• Mentors students and junior technologists; assists with planning multiple diagnostic procedures.
• Ensures the department meets all regulatory requirements and uses post-processing tools like Syngo Via.

Nuclear Medicine program graduate (accredited by JRCNMT or NMTCB)
