Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Cary, NC, is seeking an experienced engineer to design and review nuclear power plant systems, including modifications, drawings, analyses, specifications, and vendor evaluations.

You will lead project teams, develop cost estimates, and interface with clients at client offices or plant sites on occasion. The role follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants
• PE license is beneficial, but not required

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear plant systems
• Perform engineering analyses to support modifications and operation of plant systems
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Study modifications and options for operating nuclear plants
• Lead engineering project teams
• Interface with clients and present engineering task status at client sites when needed
