Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to support the Fermi Nuclear Generating Station project in Newport, MI, with a hybrid work setup (three on-site days, two remote). You will contribute to design, modification, and analysis of instrumentation and control systems for a challenging nuclear environment.

You will lead project teams, interface with clients, and develop engineering cost estimates while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and safety

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer coursework.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear power plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify operating nuclear power plant packages.
• Prepare functional drawings and procurement documents.
• Perform engineering analyses to support plant modifications.
• Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients on-site and remotely.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
