Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Janus Licensing/Regulatory Lead to serve as the senior SME for reactor licensing and to drive regulatory engagements for the BANR technology program, in coordination with engineering, commercialization and project teams.

This on-site role offers hybrid work options, a base salary ranging from $99,410 to $157,000 per year, and a benefits package. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain DOE/DOD clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (nuclear, mechanical, civil, environmental).
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in nuclear licensing and regulatory matters within a U.S. framework (NRC, DOE or DoD).
• Ability to serve as a subject-matter lead guiding teams and stakeholders through complex regulatory/licensing processes.
• Experience in design, evaluation, and development of nuclear systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder management.
• U.S. Citizenship; ability to obtain DOE/DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project licensing plans for BANR reactor tech development.
• Plan, coordinate and support licensing deliverables for regulatory engagement and review.
• Develop regulatory strategies to address key technical and programmatic issues.
• Lead the development and defense of the licensing basis for the BANR product tech.
• Collaborate with engineering to integrate regulatory requirements into reactor tech.
• Support testing programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead regulatory discussions and coordinate budgets and schedules.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to execute licensing activities.
