Job summary

BWXT is seeking a Licensing Manager to lead all aspects of license application development for a uranium enrichment facility, serving as the primary regulatory interface and coordinating cross‑functional technical contributions. The role is on‑site in Oak Ridge, TN.

You will manage licensing schedules, pre‑application strategy, and interactions with NRC, ensuring regulatory commitments are integrated into design and change control. Requires strong NRC knowledge and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nuclear sciences, regulatory affairs, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of nuclear industry regulatory or licensing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of NRC regulations including 10 CFR Parts 50, 52, 70, and 74.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact with regulators.
• U.S. citizenship; DOE clearance ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary licensing team with direction, coaching, and performance oversight.
• Interface with NRC and regulators; oversee correspondence, inspections, and regulatory planning.
• Coordinate licensing strategy with internal engineering, safety, operations, and leadership.
• Develop and maintain licensing basis; manage license applications, amendments, exemptions, and RAI responses.
• Oversee pre-application strategy, submittals, and regulatory commitments implementation.
• Represent the facility during NRC inspections, audits, and rulemaking reviews.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including safety analysis, fire protection, and QA.
• Direct development of license application materials: safety analysis, radiation protection, and more.
• Manage regulatory engagement plans and pre‑application interactions.
