Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is seeking a Licensing & Safety Analysis Engineer in Lynchburg, VA. You will administer NRC licenses, coordinate safety analyses, and interface with NRC, regulators, and stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering/physics, familiarity with NRC regs (10 CFR 20/70/73/74), US citizenship, and ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance. We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field.
• Experience with NRC regulations (10 CFR 20/70/73/74) and related guidance.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer NRC License SNM-42 and related licenses.
• Communicate with NRC and state regulators.
• Lead Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) process and licensing activities.
• Coordinate Change Review Board (CRB) activities and records.
• Coordinate NRC and insurance audits, visits, and inspections.
• Ensure compliant record keeping.
• Implement Process Hazard Analysis, SER, and MoC programs.
• Assess impact of facility changes on NRC/VA licenses.
• Interact with frontline supervisors, NRC inspectors, and customers on nuclear safety/licensing.
• Participate in emergency management organization.
