Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Licensing Manager for its BWXT Advanced Technologies group in the Lynchburg, VA area, with on-site or remote work options. You will lead senior licensing activities, coordinate regulatory engagements, and guide teams to ensure compliance with U.S.

regulatory requirements in advanced reactor programs. The role requires extensive nuclear licensing experience, strong communication and stakeholder management, and the ability to obtain DOE/DOD clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (nuclear, mechanical, civil, environmental)
• Minimum 5 years in a management or supervisory role
• Minimum 10 years of nuclear licensing/regulatory experience in US (NRC/DOE)
• Experience in design, evaluation and development of nuclear systems
• Ability to communicate clearly and build relationships with internal/external stakeholders
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain DOE/DOD clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project licensing plans for advanced reactor technology within the U.S. regulatory framework
• Coordinate licensing deliverables and regulatory documents for engagement and review
• Develop regulatory strategies to address technical and programmatic issues
• Lead the development and defense of licensing bases for reactor technologies and customer projects
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate regulatory requirements into design
• Support creation of testing programs to ensure regulatory compliance
• Lead regulatory discussions aligned with program plans
• Develop budgets and schedules to achieve regulatory outcomes
• Communicate licensing activities with stakeholders and manage multiple licensing efforts
