Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in Seneca, SC is seeking a Nuclear Engineer III/Senior Nuclear Engineer to join the Instrumentation & Control Design Engineering team at Oconee Nuclear Station. You will advance engineering work from concept through installation, testing, and closeout, guiding modifications to instrumentation, controls, and cybersecurity requirements.

The role demands strong technical judgment, the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to nuclear safety.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years engineering experience; nuclear power plant experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Master’s degree may substitute for BS.
• State PE registration or ability to obtain is preferred for senior level.
• Ability to manage non-routine assignments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering analysis for complex problems and support plant modifications.
• Coordinate design work with vendors, operations, and cybersecurity teams.
• Review instructions, ensure design translation to field activities, and support testing.
• Serve as Responsible Engineer for assigned modifications after qualification.
