Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Cary, NC is seeking a senior electrical engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation or review of modification packages and drawings.

The role involves leading project teams, developing cost estimates, interfacing with clients at plant sites, and producing technical specifications and procurement documents. This hybrid position requires in-office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client scopes.
• Interface with clients at offices or plant sites and present engineering status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
