Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Electrical Engineer to support design, modification, and analysis of nuclear power plant electrical systems at the Surry location. You will work in a project team environment with engineers and designers, prepare change packages, and perform power studies.

The role involves interface with clients and vendors, travel to sites, and coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure scope and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience designing electrical systems in projects for industrial applications.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install or upgrade plant equipment.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations (AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop).
• Prepare procurement specifications and support vendor bids.
• Attend client meetings and site walks to validate scope and satisfaction.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
• Coordinate with project team members across disciplines and manage deliverables.
• Support site installation activities and assist the project manager to meet scope, schedule and budget.
