Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a Sr Electrical and/or Controls Nuclear Engineer for a contract role in Birmingham, AL. The position requires 10+ years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities include applying engineering processes to design and construct power-related systems, supporting estimates, and guiding contractors through design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree accredited in relevant field.
• 10+ years in nuclear engineering or related field.
• Experience with design, construction and licensing processes.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe work environment by prioritizing safety.
• Understand planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance processes.
• Support design standards and criteria development for the system.
• Assist construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
• Estimate materials for projects.
• Transmit construction packages and supporting specifications.
• Provide guidance and QA reviews for contractors during design solutions.
