Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking an experienced Nuclear Engineer 4 to lead core design and neutronics analyses, collaborating with Thermal Hydraulics, Code Development, and Nuclear Methods teams while providing technical leadership across reload analyses and licensing interfaces.

The role requires practical knowledge of PWR reactor physics and the ability to mentor junior engineers, deliver validated modeling and design documents, and align milestones with outage windows and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is required.
• MS in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is desirable.
• Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Perform core design and neutronics analysis for cycle design and reloads.
• Prepare core monitoring inputs, COLR inputs, and other technical information for operations support.
• Configure, validate, and maintain core monitoring software models and inputs.
• Design, analyze, and support deployment of neutron source assemblies.
• Exercise in-depth knowledge of industry best-practices and state-of-the-art advancements.
• Communicate professionally across disciplines and stakeholders including customers and regulators.
• Develop innovative solutions to multifaceted technical challenges requiring original thinking and multi-physics reasoning.
• Support development and maintenance of licensed nuclear design methods and analyses.
• Align analysis milestones with operations schedules, outage windows, and reload execution plans.
• Mentor junior engineers.
