Job summary
Management Solutions LLC in Knoxville, TN seeks an experienced Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) Engineer to support DOE/NNSA programs and other federal nuclear projects. You will develop safety analyses, perform field assessments, and provide technical guidance to clients and junior staff.
This client-facing role offers opportunities to work across multiple DOE facilities, apply DOE orders and ANSI/ANS-8 standards, and contribute to technically challenging nuclear safety initiatives while
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from ABET-accredited program in Nuclear Engineering, Engineering, Physics or Chemistry.
- Minimum 4 years of nuclear criticality safety experience.
- Experience with SCALE/KENO or MCNP.
- Knowledge of DOE nuclear safety requirements and ANSI/ANS-8 standards.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Active DOE Q clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop NCSEs and underlying criticality safety analyses.
- Evaluate operations, facility modifications, and design changes.
- Apply DOE Orders, ANSI/ANS-8, and client procedures.
- Develop and review nuclear safety controls and their implementation.
- Perform field walkdowns, assessments, and technical reviews.
- Support hazards analyses and integrated nuclear safety activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews.
