Job summary

Paschal Solutions seeks a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer to support client sites in Piketon, OH and Oak Ridge, TN in a hybrid role. You will perform NCS analyses, develop safety bases, and validate models for fissile material operations, while participating in audits and design reviews.

The role requires a BS in a related field with 3–5 years of NCS experience, ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance, and a US citizenship without dual citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3–5 years of nuclear criticality safety experience.
• Ability to obtain a DOE 'Q' clearance; active clearance preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship with no dual citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support management in establishing and maintaining NCS programs with technically sound analyses.
• Perform comprehensive NCS analyses and develop safety basis documentation.
• Develop and validate computer models using radiation transport calculations to support NCS analyses.
• Establish operational limits and controls for safe operations.
• Ensure NCS requirements are implemented across all activities.
• Participate in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and design reviews.
• Review work packages, procedures, and authorization basis documents for NCS.
• Apply expertise in criticality code verification and validation, benchmarks, and safety evaluations.
