Management Solutions LLC in Knoxville, TN is seeking an experienced Safety Analysis Engineer to support DOE/NNSA programs through nuclear facility safety analyses and safety basis documentation for existing facilities, modifications, and modernization projects.

The role is client-facing, requires 8+ years of DOE safety experience, active DOE Q clearance, ABET-engineering or related degree, and strong technical writing and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering or related technical degree (Physics/ Chemistry).
• Minimum eight years of DOE nuclear safety or safety basis experience.
• Experience with hazard analyses and DSAs and related safety documents.
• Working knowledge of 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and DOE safety requirements.
• Active DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety analyses and develop Safety Basis documentation for DOE Hazard Category 2 and 3 facilities.
• Prepare hazard identification/screening documents and TSRs, DSAs, and related reports.
• Evaluate safety-class structures, systems and components and develop functional requirements.
• Apply DOE orders and standards in safety analyses and documentation.
• Support USQ screenings, determinations, and associated documentation.
• Review designs and changes for consistency with Safety Basis requirements and assumptions.
