Job summary

Consolidated Nuclear Security in Oak Ridge, TN, seeks an entry-level Engineer in Training to develop Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) capabilities under the guidance of experienced engineers.

You will perform safety analyses, review procedures, and participate in inspections to ensure safe handling of fissile materials, while benefiting from career development programs and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering/Physical Science from ABET-accredited program in the U.S. or equivalents.
• GPA: 3.0/4.0 for Bachelor's; 3.3/4.0 for Master's; 3.5/4.0 for Ph.D.
• Clearance eligibility: ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform Criticality Safety Analysis of equipment and processes.
• Review procedures to ensure correct methods, controls, and limitations.
• Conduct surveillance, inspections, and audits of fissile material operations.
• Provide NCS interpretations and maintain physics codes and cross-sections.
