Job summary

Amperesand, based in Reno, seeks a Senior NPI Technical Program Manager to drive the transition of Solid State Transformer systems from design into scalable manufacturing. You’ll own build readiness, validate MBOMs, and partner with engineering, supply chain, quality and operations to ensure smooth, high-quality launches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years in engineering roles with program execution experience in complex product environments.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to drive builds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to document status, risks and actions.
  • Experience with electrical systems, power electronics, or similar hardware in production.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, adapt to evolving requirements, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with product qualification and reliability testing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end NPI, defining master build schedule with entry/exit criteria.
  • Contribute technical expertise to NPI builds and product readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve program milestones.
  • Finalize MBOM accuracy and align design with factory readiness.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing to test ERP, MRP, MES before production.
  • Establish and track NPI metrics to measure readiness and improvements.
  • Communicate build status, risks, and updates to stakeholders.
  • Develop test strategies, reliability plans, and qualification activities.
  • Coordinate ECOs and change management; synchronize design and production.
  • Drive DFM/DFA feedback loops between engineering and production.
  • Ensure capacity, material readiness, and logistics for high-volume ramp.
  • Secure material availability and monitor quality; escalate risks.
  • Identify yield improvements and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Lead post-mortems and embed improvements in NPI framework.
  • Mentor junior engineers and program managers in NPI best practices.
