Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively lead development efforts.
• SolidWorks and high-volume machining experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Technical Design & Engineering: create robust 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks with DFM.
• Prototyping: build, assemble, and iterate functional prototypes with rapid fabrication.
• Validation & Feasibility: perform design analyses to prove the design before molds.
• Design for Manufacturing: conduct reviews to ensure low cost and ease of manufacturing.
• Verification Testing: lead qualification testing to ensure product survival.
• Innovation: translate user needs into PSDs and identify market gaps.
• Commercial Viability: develop high-level COGS estimates and ROI models.
• Competitive Analysis: benchmark tech aspects of competitors’ products.
• Engineering Change Orders & Supply Chain: manage design changes and supplier moves.
