Job summary

Speakman, an Everflow Company, seeks a New Product Development Engineer to take mechanical plumbing products from concept through production in Carteret, NJ. This role blends hands-on design, materials knowledge, simulation, prototyping, testing, documentation, and cross‑functional leadership.

You will manage multiple development projects with Product Management, Marketing, Quality, Sourcing, Operations, and Manufacturing, balancing performance, cost, and schedule while driving production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• At least eight years of manufacturing engineering and new product development experience.
• Advanced hands‑on experience with 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and design constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical plumbing products into functional, manufacturable solutions.
• Translate concepts into detailed components and complex assemblies meeting performance, cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Plan prototypes, develop test protocols, and analyze results to refine designs until requirements are met.
• Prepare layouts, drawings, BOMs, engineering specs, cost studies, and other documentation for proposals and manufacturing orders.
