Job summary

SPX Technologies in Ohio is seeking a Senior Engineer I – New Product Development to design, develop, test, and launch new industrial fan and air movement products. You’ll work cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, sourcing, and quality teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

This role requires 8+ years in design engineering, CAD proficiency (Inventor/SolidWorks), and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of design engineering experience in product development or manufacturing.
• Experience with CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new industrial fan and air movement products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, sourcing and quality teams.
• Conduct engineering calculations and CAD modeling.
• Develop specifications, BOMs, and test plans.
• Perform product testing and verify performance.
• Support third-party testing and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support manufacturability and cost-effective design reviews.
• Assist in design-for-manufacturability and vendor evaluations.
