Job summary

SPX Technologies’ Cincinnati Fan division seeks a design engineer to create and maintain 2D/3D models and drawings for engineered air movement equipment. You’ll collaborate with engineering, production, and applications teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements.

The role emphasizes CAD expertise, manufacturing knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced office environment onsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CAD experience in designing machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
• Manufacturing knowledge (fabrication, welding, machining)

Responsibilities

• Design and draft 2D and 3D drawings for machinery.
• Produce manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Support product design changes, custom orders, and engineering updates.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, tolerances, and specifications.
• Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine critical dimensions and orientations for design.
• Create detailed layout drawings and review design alternatives in collaboration with manufacturing.
• Provide input into selection and usage of design tools.
• Assist with customer needs and handle opportunities with a sense of urgency
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing and sales departments
• Analyze product or equipment specifications to determine producibility
