Job summary

Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County is seeking an accomplished, energetic and mission-driven Assistant Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer to join our executive leadership team. This senior leadership role partners with the CEO to strengthen operations across the agency’s programs and services.

You will supervise senior managers, shape policies, lead multiple projects, and work with the Board and community partners to advance quality, compliance and data‑driven decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive administrative and leadership experience.
• Experience in nonprofit/human services operations.
• Ability to lead senior managers and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, operational guidance to the Executive Director/CEO and senior leadership.
• Supervise and develop senior managers and promote accountability across departments.
• Help formulate and implement organizational policies, priorities and initiatives.
• Lead and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring goals, deliverables and timelines are achieved.
• Evaluate operations and advance quality improvement and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Partner with the Executive Director/CEO and CFO in budget development, financial review and organizational planning.
• Participate in significant personnel decisions and organizational training initiatives.
• Build productive relationships with the Board, staff, families and other stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving regulatory, legislative and healthcare/human services trends affecting the organization.
