Job summary

The Planet Group in New York seeks an experienced accounting professional to lead nonprofit financial reporting and compliance. The role requires deep GAAP knowledge, strong controls, and the ability to manage multiple high-impact projects in a deadline-driven environment.

You will work with nonprofit clients on government contracts and CFR reporting, performing audits under Uniform Guidance, and delivering accurate statements using Excel and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience in nonprofit sector or serving nonprofit clients.
• Experience with government contracts and grants.
• Experience with government agency audits and Uniform Guidance/Single Audits.
• Experience with CFRs (Consolidated Fiscal Reports).
• Experience working with organizations with approximately $20M–$500M+ in annual revenue.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting controls.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
