Job summary

ServiceNet Inc. in Northampton, MA is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations for a nonprofit agency.

The role directs the general ledger, monthly close, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP and government grant requirements, reporting to the Director of Finance. The Controller will supervise a team in the Fiscal Department, drive internal controls and process improvements, and collaborate with program and development teams on budgets and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Experience in a complex nonprofit, healthcare, or human services organization, ideally with government funding and grant compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Lead monthly and annual close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and funder requirements.
• Maintain a system of strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
