Atlantic Group is seeking a Senior Grant Accountant in New York to manage the full financial lifecycle of grants, ensure compliance, and support program leadership with accurate reporting. The role emphasizes nonprofit grant accounting, budgeting, and audit support within a mission-driven organization.

The ideal candidate brings 4–8+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with grant compliance and Single Audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
4–8+ years accounting experience, including at least 2 years supporting grants/nonprofit organizations.
Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, grant compliance, and Single Audit requirements.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with grant accounting systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage the full financial lifecycle of assigned grants from award setup through closeout.
Prepare grant billings, reimbursement requests, drawdowns, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
Monitor restricted funding, cost allocations, indirect cost calculations, and budget-to-actual performance.
Reconcile grant activity to the general ledger and investigate variances.
Assist with Single Audits, external audits, and grant budget modifications.
Collaborate with program leadership to monitor grant utilization and reporting controls.
