Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT), a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs, is seeking an Account Manager in Detroit to expand the non-ferrous brokerage business. You will develop supplier and customer relationships, negotiate terms, and coordinate across operations, logistics, and finance to ensure profitable, compliant transactions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in scrap or related industries, strong negotiation and relationship skills, and willingness to travel 25–40% across North America.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in scrap metal, recycling, brokerage, or related industry.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Experience with large corporate accounts and commercial terms.
Willingness to travel 25–40% across North America.

Responsibilities

Develop and grow FPT’s non-ferrous brokerage business through supplier and customer relationships.
Serve as senior commercial point of contact for key accounts and negotiate terms.
Forecast demand, supplier availability, and market conditions to support planning.
Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance to execute transactions efficiently.
Represent FPT at industry conferences and meetings; travel regularly across North America.
