Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading Company in Detroit seeks an Account Manager to drive the growth of its non-ferrous brokerage business. You will manage supplier and customer relationships, negotiate terms, and develop strategic market plans to increase volume and profitability.

You will serve as a senior commercial contact for major accounts, working with operations and logistics to ensure accurate execution while expanding market share across North America.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in the scrap metal, recycling, metals, brokerage, commodity, or related industry.
• Strong non-ferrous scrap knowledge of grades, specs, pricing, markets and end-use applications.
• Experience negotiating commercial terms and managing transactions from opportunity to completion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow FPT’s non-ferrous brokerage business through supplier and customer relationships.
• Serve as senior commercial point of contact for key suppliers and customers and create long-term value.
• Negotiate purchases, sales, pricing, freight, terms, and specifications while maintaining margins and risk discipline.
• Forecast supplier availability, demand, shipment volumes, and market conditions to support planning.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, purchasing, accounting, risk management, and leadership teams to ensure accurate execution.
