Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer (Node.js) to support a growing technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham area. The role is hybrid and requires onsite in the office 2 days a week.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of backend experience, strong Node.js and Python skills, and hands-on AWS plus Terraform/Terragrunt with Docker/Kubernetes for containerized deployments. Eligible to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Node.js and Python proficiency.
• Hands-on AWS and cloud-native development.
• IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt; containerized deployments with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with NoSQL DBs and RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python.
• Build and maintain integrations across systems.
• Architect and support cloud-based solutions on AWS.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable features.
