Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineer (IaC) to design and automate cloud infrastructure across multi-cloud environments in the Raleigh-Durham area. The role emphasizes Python, Node.js scripting, Terraform, Terragrunt, and CI/CD automation for Azure and AWS.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in DevOps/infrastructure roles, strong scripting skills, and experience with Azure and AWS, plus CI/CD tooling like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infra automation.
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js for scripting & automation.
• Hands-on with Terraform and Terragrunt in production environments.
• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Solid Git workflows and collaborative development practices.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain IaC using Terraform and Terragrunt for Azure and AWS.
• Develop automation scripts and tooling in Python and Node.js.
• Create and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable delivery.
• Integrate automated testing, security scanning, and quality controls into CI/CD.
• Collaborate with development and cloud engineering teams for scalable, secure designs.
• Troubleshoot and improve build, deployment, and cloud provisioning performance.
