Job summary

Imagineeer LLC in Arlington, VA is seeking a NOC Tier 2 Technician to provide advanced network and systems support in a 7x24x365 environment. You will act as a subject matter expert, resolve escalated incidents, and mentor Tier 1 staff while coordinating across engineers and vendors.

The role requires hands-on experience with enterprise networks, experience in incident management, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• 3–5 years in network operations/NOC or similar role.
• Experience troubleshooting complex network and system issues.
• Experience working in a 7x24x365 environment.
• Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching.
• Experience with network monitoring platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot Cisco/Juniper devices.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage enterprise network infrastructure, servers, and applications using advanced monitoring and analysis tools.
• Handle escalated incidents from Tier 1 and perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity, performance, and configuration issues.
• Analyze network traffic, logs, and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues.
• Execute configuration changes on routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Coordinate incident response activities and manage communication during major incidents or outages.
• Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 technicians.
• Participate in problem management to identify and prevent recurring issues.
• Support planned maintenance windows and monitor during implementation.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Capacity planning and infrastructure recommendations.
• Create network diagrams and knowledge base articles.
• On-call rotation participation.
• Validate backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor security alerts and potential incidents.
• Generate reports on availability, incident trends, and performance.
