Job summary

Rochester Gas & Elec. Corp., an Avangrid company, is seeking a Senior NMC Specialist in Rochester, NY. The role leads the Network Activation and Deployment team, driving strategic plans for implementing and operating network technologies in a proactive manner.

You will supervise day-to-day functions, manage staffing, coordinate with vendors, and ensure SLA-driven incident resolution, change management, and project progress across Circuits, Security, Asset management and NMC projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in telecom environment or Associates degree.
• At least 1 Industry Certification in a telecom related field.
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Senior NMC Manager.
• Assist in management and maintaining network and security documentation through collaborative teams and applications.
• Supervise the day-to-day functions of the assigned team, set schedule, handle staffing requests.
• Oversees activities directly related to Network Activation and Deployment including second-tier support, software/firmware upgrades, configuration changes, maintenance, lifecycle management, and security.
• Escalate issues to vendors and Engineering when further assistance is needed, or solution is not progressing.
• Monitor trouble tickets and ensure resolution and closure while ensuring response time compliance to SLAs and expectations.
• Work with project teams to ensure projects are progressing at an expected pace (Circuits, Security, Asset management and NMC developed projects).
• Responsible for change management and the socialization of upgrades and patch updates to the production network.
