Job summary

OGS Machining is a CNC job shop seeking a full-time CNC Swiss Setup/Operator for the night shift. The role focuses on setting up and operating Star CNC Swiss-type lathes, ensuring efficient production and quality in a four-day workweek (Mon-Thurs 3:30PM–2:00AM) with occasional overtime on Fridays.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years’ unaided experience configuring CNC Swiss lathes in a job shop, plus 5+ years in machine shop work and a High School Diploma.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience setting up CNC Swiss Lathe machines in a job shop.
• 5+ years of Machine Shop experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Good understanding of CNC Swiss Lathe machining work and tool offsets.
• Ability to identify critical blueprint dimensions and inspect these dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Setup CNC Swiss-type lathes for production turning.
• Document new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated.
• Oversee the quality of parts produced in the machining cell.
• Share expertise within the Swiss department.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance programs on machine shop equipment.
• Setup machines on a flexible basis to ensure optimum output.
• Effectively communicate any issues or problems encountered to day shift personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
